What is Scandinavian Style?
Scandinavian Style is our effort to inform and share our passion for living a life that is aesthetically pleasing while simultaneously being practical and functional. After studying many different types of design, we agreed that the Scandinavians utilized a design that fulfilled both of these requirement.
More than anything, Scandinavian Style should serve as a crash course for those wanting to integrate a little more design and flair into their lifestyles. Therefore, we will give in-depth overviews explaining the main aspects of Scandinavian design, feature many of our favorite Scandinavian brands, give style advice and provide historical and analytical analysis.
At Scandinavian Style, we believe that inspiration can takes many forms, therefore we want to make a very collaborative experience. We want to hear your thoughts, suggestions and comments. We want to be inspired by you, as much as we want to inspire you.
Who Are We?
Jack Parrott
Team Leader
Jack was introduced to Scandinavian design through the clothing brand, Acne Studios. Through Acne Studios, Jack's appreciation of the Scandinavian design ethos spilled over from fashion into other artistic fields. Scandinavian Style is the culmination of years of passion and research.
Francini Monteiro
Webmaster
Francini started to know about Scandinavian design after meeting Jack, who already had knowledge about brands and this style. The Scandinavian fashion aroused interest in fleeing places traditionally references in fashion, and for proposing a very different value and idea, but maintaining elegance and style.
Jonny Cook
Writer
Jonny gained an interest in Scandinavian style during his time in Europe, after seeing the various unique fashion and architectural styles. The simplicity of Scandinavian design especially stood out to him, and although he knew little about Scandinavian design coming into the project, has been thrilled to learn and write more about it.
Natália Carolino
Designer
Natália enjoys fashion up to a certain port, as well as architecture, but as she researched more about the Scandinavian region, she was surprised to see what Scandinavian designs look like. And in how they manage to make a simple environment stand out with the use of equally simple objects.
